Access Database Security on Intranet

I have a problem and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get it solved.

I have an access database. It is set up to allow people to do inquiries and I don't want them to be able to change anything. It works well when I test it on our Novell network. But when I put the database on our intranet, it seems to lose all of the security settings. When I test it, it allows us to make changes to the database which I don't want to happen.

I even went to the file directly on the server and changed the settings. It still lets me change things when I try to access it from the intranet.

I think that this application may need ASP and our network administrator said the server in a Novell environment doesn't support ASP.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can you tell me what I can look at to help me through this problem?

Have you simply tried changing the Recordset Type to "Snapshot"
That's just like a picture of the data and can not be changed.

Thanks - that appears to have done the trick. I have more testing to do but I think that does it. Thanks for your help!
