ACCESS Custom Format Problem

I created a form where the user requested to enter ww/yyyy. I set up the Format as ww/yyyy and the Input Mask as 90/0000. When the user enters in the 12th week of 1977 (12/1977), ACCESS changes the date to 49/1977. Can anyone please advise?<br>-Many Thanks!-

the format changes the date into the format you specified<br>12/1977 would be the 49th week of 1977<br>have them put in week start date or change the field type to just a text box because you truly are not using it as a date if you are only going to enter week and year.
