I am calling Access.Application from within ASP.NET. I have noticed that even if I tell Access to quit MSACCESS.EXE remains running. How can I get MSACCESS to quit. Multiple versions running at once can quickly degrade the server.

fld: In Access a simple 'Quit' would do it - I have heard some time ago that Access queries can be executed in stored procedures - perhaps there might be a way to call a macro or perhaps some other way to send a Quit command. just a thought. My guess is that you'll have to close directly the *.exe program. Keep us posted on this, a good question. As far as multiple version that would be catastrophic - will the file be open for editiing? That could make a difference, etc.

I already issue a command quit. The database itself is gone (object.DoCmd.Quit - object.Close), the object closed and yet the EXE continues to run.
