Hi All

I have an Access 97 Aplication with 10 users
The DataBase is on 3 mdb Files

AppDB.mdb – 10Mega
ManegerDB.mdb – 2.5Mega
AppHist.mdb - 35Mega

The network is Novel 6.0

when one of the users open a form that connect to the AppHist.mdb. none of the users can open the same form
and getting a masseg
“can’t find F:\ App\AppHist.mdb”

I try Compact /Decompile/ To open a new mdb

Some of the users are loged as Administrator and they stil have the problem.

i must say that The same Application works fine in 30 other Customers

Does anyone know how to solve this problem??
Thanks

I haven't any experience of recent versions of Netware, but on 3.12 I used to have to modify the number of record and file locks on the server. There were four parameters to modify. Have a look at and see if it bears any relation. Sorry, that is the only Netware-related issue I can think of.

record locking was an issue with Netware 4.2 and below..I dont think it's an issue with higher versions of netware. if you saying “can’t find F:\ App\AppHist.mdb” check your drive mapping. the way to really test if the users can get into the DB is, open up "My Computer" and double click the DB directly and see if you get the same error. I think you have a drive mapping probelm.

It wouldn't be because the first user is opening the database in exclusive mode would it?

it is not an issue with mapping because after the first user closes the form, there is no problem to open and read all the records from AppHist.mdb.

And it's also not a problem with exclusive mode.
but Thanks anyway.
