Hi,

I need some help with this topic. In my office we have a sofware for printer monitoring across network. But I have my network seperated by VLANS, therefore I only can monotoring the printers that are in the same vlans. How could I do for access all the printers in the entire networks? I try with a trunk ports, but it does not wor

Rather than cross-posting I think you need to do a bit more research as to how this 'monitoring' application works. You seem to have asked on a DHCP thread about this as well?

I suspect that the application uses broadcasting to discover the printers and this only works for the VLAN you are in? By default the router will forward only certain UDP broadcasts (bootpc, bootps, tftp, nameserver, dns, ntp, netbios-ns, netbios-dgm & tacacs). If your application uses it's own port you could add this to global configuration of the switch, however you will also need to add IP helpers to each network broadcast address (i.e. network 192.168.1.0/24 the helper would be 192.168.1.255) to allow these broadcasts to reach the other VLAN's.

I suspect you can also configure the application to discover the printers via unicast but without any details as to what it is I can't tell you.
