One of my customers upgraded to Office 2000. After the upgrade he can't open any of his Access 97 files, when he tries to opens the database, he gets the following error message;
"This object requires a newer version of the Database Jet Engine".
I have looked for this error message on the Microsoft on line help search engine and can't find it.
I have tried UN installing and re installing Access, Repairing the database,
Converting the database, all to no avail.
There is nothing unusual about the database, it does not use any custom controls, etc.
Unfortunately we can't restore from backup, so we cant return to Access 07
Any ideas ???

Regards,
John

Are you opening the files in Access 2000 or are you opening them with another program that can read Access databases?Sounds to me like you have something that can read Access databases but is using the Jet engine for '97.

Or maybe a .DLL got over written when they upgraded.
