Hi All,
In the midst of a desktop upgrade to Windows 2000/Access 2000 we split some 97 databases with 2000 front ends. Now that the upgrades are done, what is involved in removing/converting the backend 97 to 2000? Do we just convert the backend to 2000 and point the users to that? What about the .mdw file?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks, John

When you open the 97 files it should prompt you to convert to 2000. You can then go into the front end to refresh the links (Tools menu, database utilities, linked table manager).

I honestly don't know if there is anything you need to do with the mdw file. I think you might have to repoint it to the newly named file.

Dawn
