I found an annoyance with the design view for a query when joining two tables. If the field list window is smaller than the total number of fields, dragging the join line from Table A to Table B causes the field list in Table B to start scrolling even though the field to be joined is visible. This makes it impossible to join the two fields. This behavior doesn't happen in Access 2003. So far the work around is to either resize the windows (which isn't always possible), or go do the join on whatever field it lands on after scrolling stops and then go into SQL view to correct the field name of the join.
