Access 2000 and Pervasive.SQL 2000i

We have just updated our Accounting software, which now uses Pervasive.SQL 2000i. Previously, I had queries in Access which inserted data into several linked (ODBC) btrieve tables, and worked just fine. The btrieve tables have been converted, and I have re-created all the DSNs and am able to link to the tables. However, I am unable to update using a query. I have tried converting the queries to pass-through but always get an 'Error in assignment' message. If I link the tables using 'get external data' from the main menu, I can update the tables manually - line by line.

Any suggestions?
