Hello,
I'm a newbie with SQL Server. I'd like to know what is the best way to connect to a windows SQL Server database from a linux RedHat 7.3 system.
is there a dedicated client for SQL Server under Linux?
Will i have to use an ODBC under linux if it existes?
is there an sql server language equivalent for PL/SQL Pro*C?

Any information and product name will be helpfull.
Thanks all.

You can probably use a JDBC-ODBC bridge to get there from here. There are a number of providers out there, but I'm not familiar with them since we're all-MS here.

Microsoft's flavor of SQL is called Transact-SQL (T-SQL). Much of the same functionality as PL except for nested sets/heirarchies, which I understand is due in Yukon. (Now, if I only had the time to evaluate the beta....) ;^)
