I keep getting a phone rining that states it is "ACA LONG CALL". I understand this is supposed to to inform me of a trunk problem, but all the trunks appear fine. Does this mean there is an exessively long phone call (IE is an extension connected somewhere). I would hate to have the comopany recieve a bill for a call that lasted 4 days or some such thing.

yes i belive that is what the ACA LC is trying to tell you. If your tgs are measured in CMS you can run a realtime report and it should tell you how long a port has been connected. I don't have ACA set up but I do have CMS kick out a realtime report on the TGs once a day in HTML so I can look to see if there are any calls over an hour long.

We sometimes get calls stuck in a "loop" and it kills our ASA. This typically is a modem or something though.

I had this problem in the past. Make sure that that the modems or faxes are not stuck. I had a ACA long and when I did a status on the trunk that alarmed I found the station was held up for 3 days. That station was MY Modem.

How do explain this to the boss

1a2 to ip I seen it all

If you type "list measurement aca" it will tell you which member of the TG held the call. From there you can start figuring out which port is connected to it(provided the call is still active).
