Hi.
I have some doubts about this topic.

We setup one new domain on win2k3, add the users, is working. those persons not users because the usernames are different on the new domain, have some information on the old domain running NT4 with his username and password.

Them if i want to let they access his data from the old domain, i need to create a Trust Relationship with this domain:

OldDomain-----NewDomain
NT 4 2k3

We have two types of trus, ONE-WAY and TWO-WAY, the first one is useful went i only want to give access to my domain users to the other domain, but i dont want the users from the other domain access my domain.

The TWO-WAY, the users of each site can access both domains, i hope i am correct.

Them, my case is that i want only to let some users of my new domain access his resources on the old domain, but none of the users of the old domain access the resources of the new domain, i need one Trust Relation ONE-WAY(OUTGOING) on win2k3?

OldDomain <--- NewDomain
NT4 2k3
(Trusting) (Trusted)

Now, suppose that i create the new trus between both domains, them went one user log-in in the new domain, if he or she browse the domains and want to access his resources on the old domain, went he click with the mouse his folder, the old domain will ask for some username and password or how this think will be...?

I am new to this Windows Domain, but i want to learn, i have been reading but still dont see this process working, if you have some links about i will apreciate, i give some google search but dont find nothing useful.

Thanks all for your time, greetings!!!

If you want to see what's happening on this creates a testing lab and play around there for a while (after taking English education or learn using spellcheck)

If you make a trust whit nt4 there is a trusted and a trusting domain this takes away your first question.

If you do this you can add your users to a group and give this group ntfs rights on the other domain so no credentials are needed when the use the recourses on that domain.

You are coorrect in which domain is the trusting and which is the trusted (although you are supposed to show the trust arrow direction pointing the other way, not that it matters in this case).

Even with a trust in place the users in the trusted domain still need rights to access resources in the trusting domain. Once a trust is in place you can grant explicit access to users in the other domain, they then will get transparent access to the resource.

Thanks guys for your answers, i get it and already setup the trust relationship between domain a(2k3) and domain b(NT4), one of my problems was that if a didnt restart the NT4 server my changes didnt take effect, after that everything is working very well.

Thanks for your help guys, and Larsdemo thanks for your advice about my english [peace].
