hi, i would like to ask if possible and if, how can i make my report generate a ramdom sorting of records everytime i print or refresh the report. for example i have only 2 columns an id and description and i want to randomize the order of records everytime i print/refresh it. thanks a lot! i'll appreciate ur help.

The RND function should help here.

Add a formula containing rnd.

Now use this as a group or just the formula directly in the Sort under the Report menu.

Assuming you want to show a random sample, See: faq149-3261

ok that works! thank you very much, can i follow up another question, how can i design my report as a 2 column report, i mean for i.e. like the format of newspaper, it continues the record beside the another column. coz i want to maximize the space so i want to make it 2 columns design but just 1 databas column or field. thanks again! god bless...bush or kerry? hehe just kidding...

Right-clicj the detail section (on the left),
Format Section...,
Check the "Format with Multiple Columns" check box
Use the new "Layout" tab that appears to set various options.
