Hi everyone,

I have a strange problem with the search result. I'm looking for a file in the search engine that I created days before and nothing was found. Today, I create a file "abc.doc" in my workspace and samething happened.
I really don't know how does it works, it seems for me so simple?!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

have you confirmed that new content is being indexed ? have you spoken to your administrator to ensure that the document "should" be being indexed ?

I am the administrator, but I'm beginner. ;-)

Can you please tell me how to proceed for indexing the documents

thanks.

If you are a beginner pls try to read up on the system administartion chores for livelink.
I am a long time sysadmin and here are some of the stuff that I used to practice .
Livelink's search is made by the Admin service on windows. It has to run.Anything newer than 9.5 has to have RMI running. If you do func=admin.index and found the link for "system object volume" you should not see stalled processes. If there are you can try re-starting them and see if they all make sense like paths and stuff. If the processes do not re-start or keep dying you have to find the root cause.Several things could make this not work and it is not going to look good trying to write this whole list on the forum.
Things that make a livelink sysadmin's search chore easier.
Exclude livelink indexing paths form anti virus checks
Ensure adequate permissions and memory on the search box.
Ensure partitions don't really go over 75 % of thir capacity.
Add redundadnt search processes on aother admin boxes
Take search administration classes

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

I've looking in the 'system object volume' No errors.
But something strange about LL Admin services.. they are down and I can't restart it. The error is:

LivelinkAdmin error: 6, SetServiceStatus.

So either open a ticket with support or see if you can figure out the problems.Typically in an organization there will be front ends and backend.the backend will be the one's that run's the admin service.Irreparable damage sometimes occurs if the prod database is cloned and made into development if you really did not know what you were doing or vice versa. Can you shed some history on this .Has this box ever worked ?
