Hi there,

I'm new to this world of computing and hardware. I have a system at home with following configuration:
AMD 550mhz
196mb ram
Trident 3dimage card with 4mb video ram
10GB hard disk

Now i want to install Linux (Redhat 7.1) along with Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98. To install these i've to partition my hdd itseems and i don't know anything about partitioning of hard disks. I want to give 3GB for linux and 3GB for Windows(both 2000 and 98) and the remaining should be set aside for storing other data. Can anyone tell me how i should proceed? I have a few doubts about partitioning like i want to know what is primary partition, extended partition and logical partition? How is this useful while dividing the disk? I would appreciate if you point me to any site which gives me complete details about partitioning of hard disks.

Thanks in advance..
With regards,
Shri.
