I am a new to unix env,

how to know the cron deamon is running?

Is there any commands to check the running status, stop and start the services for cron.

thanks!

ps -ef | grep cron

Examples:
/etc/init.d/xntpd stop
/etc/init.d/xntpd start

For Solaris 10 they added the Service Management Facility. man svcadm for SMF.

KHz,

Don't you mean:

Code:
/etc/init.d/cron stop
/etc/init.d/cron start

Regards,
Chuck
