I am having a little problem here. I have a PC that has an ABit BF6 motherboard, a Slot 1 P3 450 processor, AGP SiS video card, and it has worked fine for at least a year. There are 3 memory slots on the mboard, and 2 are filled with DIMMS...one 128 MEG PC100 and one 128 MEG PC133. I recently bought a new 256 MEG PC133 DIMM to put in slot 3. the PC worked fine up until installation of the new memory. Here's what happened:

I installed the new memory, but the PC would no longer boot, no beeps or anything. CHecking the memory, I noticed the new DIMM was not seated properly; I reseated it and rebooted. Same result. I thought maybe the CMOS shorted out or something, so I reset(cleared) it and rebooted. Still won't boot. I have reseated the CPU twice, and the AGP card twice. I have taken out the new memory, and tried to boot under the original 2 DIMMS, still won't boot. I have tried every memory combination possible, with no luck. I have cleared the CMOS several times; still no positive results.

Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? When it turns on, all the fans work, and the CD Burner light comes on and goes through it's self test, but no signal is ever sent to the monitor, and I get no beeps. The hard drive starts to whirr and just sits there, shutting off a few minutes later. I thought it may be a jumper problem, but nothing has changed since installing the new memory. I tested all the memory by itself, so I don't think any of the memory is bad, and the motherboard was fine before installing the memory, so I hope the mb hasn't gone bad. I also removed the battery a couple of times to see if that would reset the CMOS, but that didn't work either.

Thank you for any advice you can offer on this matter.

Try reseating your video card. Kimber
