Does anyone know what the time length (in seconds) is for the AA menu prompt on a NAM 4.0? I timed it at a client site at 1 minute. Is there any way to adjust/lengthen that time?

The AA is tied to MB 102's COS . It looks at the COS of that MB and it default is COS 7.

Yes, you can change the cos values w/ nru software rls.11.0 or

Norstar Voice Mail version 4.1 allows you to edit COS values through a telset
Press:
Feature 983 and login
at MBOX AA OTHR prompt press MBOX
Press 1 to enter COS edit
Enter COS value
Follow prompts to change COS

Look at MB 102 and see if the COS was changed from 7. 7 gives 10 minutes of aa greeting time.

I'm not so sure the COS affects the amount of time allotted for AA greetings and table recordings or CCR tree.

Mailbox 1x2 can used like any other mailbox, greetings, leaving messages etc, in addition to it's function as the admin box for setting up the AA. The COS for this mailbox I believe only affect the mailbox functionality nor the AA.

I've seen no document that says how much recording time there is for the AA. But you can have pretty complex AA's with menu and info nodes that can eat up a lot of time.

In COS you can change message time. message length and greeting length (in minutes) pertaining only to mailboxes. I'm w/ Marv, on AA time inability to alter. Are you referring to time in the alternate AA prompt???

Cook is correct

The Greeting Length (in minutes) in COS for MB 102 determines how longs the AA greetings are.

And yes Brutalis was asking about Menu Prompt and not AA Greetings.

However please note that Menu prompt is just that, a way to customize the default Menu Prompt and why a minute is more than ample.
Some people record their main greeting under Menu Prompt for some reason when they should be doing so under Greetings and/or CCR/Path 0

Yes he amd I are saying that! Learned it in a VM class long ago.
That is why you should not use the 102 admin MB for a user and change the COS.

I guess that is one good reason to take classes....among others. Probably should of took that one. OH well, too late now. However, OJT does one good also.

Thanks again gentlemen. FYI the system I am concerned with has MB 102 using COS 7 which is supposed to have 10 minutes of greeting recording time but when I was on site the AA menu prompt timed out at 58 seconds.

You are referring to the Automated Attendant Menu which plays a pre-recorded greeting.
Using the dial pad please enter the extension you wish to call. To use the directory, press #. To leave a message press *. To reach an operator press 0.
If you are recording an alternate greeting in the AA Menu prompt, COS for 102 does not change the allotted time. I recommend recording your main greeting in Admin-Grtg-Press Grtg 1 thru 4 and assign it to Table 1.. This is where you'll get your 10 minutes of recording time. Oh, let me correct myself. 1 thru 40. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

I have already explained how it works.

If you insist on using Menu Prompt instead of Greetings then nothing we can do.
