We have 7 subnets on our network, (192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, etc), do I need to create a zone for each subnet on the dns? How about reverse lookup zone? We are currently running NT 4.0, but we are migrating to 2003.

You should only have one forward zone per *domain* and one reverse zone per IP range.

Thanks Chris for the quick response.

So I should have one forward zone for mycompany.com
and a seperate reverse zone for each subnet that uses a seperate IP range, such as:

192.168.1.0 = 1.168.192.in-addr.arpa
192.168.2.0 = 2.168.192.in-addr.arpa

Right?

Correct.

Chris.
