Greeting all, i was posting a question on coldfusion forum, and was advised to add a feild in access with the above specs :

"Add field "upowers" (bit or int) to your table.. Set master users to a value of 1 and other users to a value of 0 use that.."

i'm not too sure what is the bit or int means, i added the feild as a number, what did i do wrong ? or how to create that feild with a bit or int ?

Thanks for any help or resources,

Max

Max,

You didn't do anything wrong. Their specification called
for the data to live in an integer. Some software has a
different type for 4, 8, 16 and 34 bit integers. To "save"
space they wanted you to use the smallest.

In Access though, you just specify that it is a Number.
Even with thousands of users, the "savings" would be
minimal.

Alternatively, you could specify the field as a boolean,
which is about as efficient as you can be.
