Our system admin guy recently left for a better paying job so I’ve been given the task of taking over. I am working without the benefit of being briefed by him and there are no drawings of how the network is laid out. Is there any tool that I can use to map the entire network? We have a bunch of snap servers that are used for storage; I don’t know which are attached to which network or their IP address. We have a W2K environment and I have minimal network experience. How can I discover which devices are attached and their IP address? Could someone help me out, thanks!!!

SolarWinds has serveral useful utilities for exploring a network. They are not cheap but they will give you an eval copy to download and try.
