Hi:

Does anyone know a program which could read emails from a given mailbox and record it to a database (Access, Dbase) or an Excel file?

it all depends, what kind of mailbox, what kind of connection.

for anything standard - pop3 or imap server - you could use python. but if you think of a exchange server, or even .pst-file: no idea
