Hi All
I am new to flash and trying to create my first button. How do I get rid of all the white space and just publish and export the button? When I put it into dreamweaver, it puts in the whole stage area. Also, when I am in dreamweaver, design mode, I click on the flash object to insert, then select the swf file and it places it on the page, but it is all grayed out with the flash icon. Is that right?

1. If you want the button and button only, make your stage the same size as your button, same as you would in Photoshop or something. The area you define as the work area is the image.

2. yes, the grey area with the flash icon should be there. It tells you that you have placed flash into your file. If you look at the properties pallet there should be a play button, this is so you can view it in edit mode in dreamweaver. Although it dosent work for me, I just get an error message.

Hope this helps roda B-)

Learning is like rowing against the current. As soon as you stop, you start going backwards.

Let me explain a lil more in detail on roda's behalf...go to modify movie, you can change your movie size there...;)

Thanks to both Roda and White Tiger for the help. I works just fine now. Now it is on to learn how to build a whole navigation bar !!!!
