I am looking to buy a PDA for my place of business and I have a few questions regarding applications and what they can do. First of all I was wondering if a PDA could be used for things like webcams and video conferencing. Is the web access as good as a regular PC? Another question I have is is it possible to download things like forms from a network into the PDA, complete the form, then load it back on the network? It seems possible from the research I've done so far, but I just want to be sure. I've never used one before and I just want to make sure that they are more than just a glorified organizer and calender.

Gosh I hate handhelds. Okay, first make sure your place of buisness allows you to connect a pda to your network. Your network admin will hate you if you screw it up then ask for help. Make sure you get software like Intelisync or Pocket Mirror if you want your Outlook Calander and stuff synced. I dont know if they changed stuff but Palm desktop's active sync only sync's appointments made in Palm destop. It is bad. So spend the money and get ActiveSync. Oh, once it syncs at work, dont go home and think it will synk there. Maybe your using Windows 2000 at work with Office XP. Then you take it home and use Windows 98 and Microsoft Works. That screws stuff up to.

Good lord, that sounds like a huge pain. So basically, the only way to get stuff to stay in sync would be to keep it hooked up to my computer at work? Also, if I synced it to Groupwise (email) I wouldn't be able to view my email from say my home?
I have a HP Jornada 525 with ActiveSync 3.5 at home and ActiveSync 3 at work. 2000 at work, XP at home, Office 2000 in both places. I can synchronise my calendar and contacts from both pc's but only emails from home. If I had linked to the work one first I would probably be limited to only work emails (maybe someone knows the answer). Anyway I find it works fine like this. Learn something new every day *:->*
