Hi all,
We have SQL 6.5 database and looking for a perfect migration to SQL 2000. We are going to have a new server for SQL 2000. Can anybody advice me the best steps for the migration from old SQL 6.5/Server to new SQL 2000/server?

Thanks

Hi,
On the Sql Server 2000 there is a tool called:
'Microsoft Sql Server - switch -> Sql server upgrade wizard'
Use it.

Thanks Yanuv!

I can use the migration tool. But, my issue is explained in the question. We are using a new server with SQL2000 on it. How can I migrate the Ver. 6.5 database of the old server to the new one? Can you advice me with some good steps for that?

1]I need the new server to have my databse from the old one.
2]Old database is on a server with SQL 6.5
3]New server is SQL 2000.
4]I need steps to move from old server to new server and migration from 6.5 to 2000.

Thanks

Hi,
Please read the section 'Upgrading Databases from SQL Server 6.5 (Upgrade Wizard)' in the Books Online of SQL 2000.
You will find all the information there.
I made the upgrade, few years ago, from 6.5 to 7.0 and it's not a big deal.
As far as i can see you know what to do (steps 1 -> 4)

Good luck
Yaniv
