Hi,
The DNS tab in the advanced settings of TCP/IP on a windows 2000 Professional machine has an option checked by default that says "Register this connection's address in DNS".
I guess it is used for the case in which a machine notifies the DNS of its IP addrs in a DHCP environment.
But why do some ISP's ask to remove this functionality? ALso i plan to setup a home domain using the facility of free domain name they need that functinality to be checked off. Hence i am trying to understand the significance of "Register this connection's address in DNS" in greater detail.
