hello,

a job must to change a DLT to finish it, would i stop the job to change the DLT? in this case the job will terminate correctly?

Thanks,

PD. Sorry I'm new in Backups and my english is terrible.

If it is just a single tape drive then eject the tape and insert the new blank tape to continue. Depending on the version you have installd, you may also need to click 'OK' on the dialog box on the server ARCserve is installed on to continue the job.

thanks vschumpy,
it's not a single tape drive, but now i've only one dlt for every job (in a future i will prepare a pool for all jobs). Then i need to change it.
Like you say, appers a dialog box on the server ARCserve, but one of my questión is if i must to export the DLT from the library directly because i can't do it from de ARCServe interface.

Now, i stop the job to change the DLT from the ARCServe interface, change the DLT, Format, and restart de job, but the job that i have stopped before is incompleted. I need to continue the job without stop.

Thank you very much.

Sergio Sanchez

Have a tape in the library and do a quick erase plus on the tape. When the backup fills the first tape it will automatically take that blank tape and continue the backup.
