Ok ,

I have a small database with fields

Name | Item Code | Picture ,

now using Me![PictureImage].Properties("Picture")= Me![imagepath]

I am able to load , picture in PictureImage , without storing it in database,Now the problem , I have to manaually type n the path of the image in imagepath , everytime,

Is there any way by which I can create a browse button , by which I can load the path of the image directly in imagepath or atleast somewhere else , from where I can cut and paste ???

------------

No. 2,

Now suppose If I have to transfer this database to another computer , the place of the images will be altred, so I tried, wat I used to do in FrontPage.Putting the path of the the images in format

Now say My images are in c:\myimages\pics

i placed my database in C:\myimages and for the path , \pics\x.jpg

It worked in the starting for somtime , but then I got the error for debugging

Any ideaz ?? I will be transferring the file mostly by cd-rom , I will burn the whole directory like in FrontPg .

thanx for replying . I am a newbie , can u explain it in detail ??

firstly thanx for replying,

sorry , i was away for a while ,

I tried the link u have Mr. Smudge ,

Now the problem arises that I DONOT know visual basic.

Also , when I click on Insert AcTIVEX componnet X and select Microsoft Common Dialog COntrol , it says , I donot have the license , and looks like VISUAL BASIC IS MUST required for it.

I tried the API links , i got from there, i create the modules, wat do I do next ??

DO I have to have Visual basic as in the thread ?

or anyother way of doing it ?

It sounds like you have found the one thing that is going to push you over the edge into learning VB.

It might look like gobble-de-gook to you at the moment but it is not too diffecult to learn enough to get by - easecially with the help of this board.. ..

Take the plunge.

hmmmm....

ok onething , the VB which comes with MsOffice ,will that do , or I have to get the full thing from my buddy ?

Don't shoot me for being pedantic - this is to try to help you understand what's going on:-

VB doesn't come "with Office".

Excel VBA comes with Excel,
Word VBA comes with Word,
Access VBA comes with Access,
Project .. ..
PowerPoint .. ..
etc.. ..

When people on these boards talk of VB (or occasionally VBA) we mean the VBA that comes with Access.

However, VBA is 'VisualBasic'. They are all just slightly different flavours of the same thing and what you learn in one is relevant to all of the others. The differences lie in things like to word VBA doesn't have as many of the Math manipulation functions available as the Excel one does - obvious things like that.

So if you have Access, then you HAVE Access VBA and that will do what you need.

'ope-that-'elps.
