Hi,

We are having major problems with the .NET DataGrid and I saw in some forum that Microsoft worked with another company to produce a more feature rich control.

I can't seem to find it. Does anyone else know anything about it??

No, but what are the problems that you're having with the datagrid control?

I thought hte datagrid was a total piece of trash. But then I learned how to use it
;)

not saying that you don't, but sometimes getting it to do what you want it to can be tricky. Let us know what your beefs are with it, and we might be able to help ya out
:)

Have to agree with D'Arcy. It took some getting used-to but so far the grid has worked out pretty well. My only problem with it is the trouble you go through just to capture the keypress events (such as the Enter key). Other than that it's done everything I need it to do (and in some cases more). What kind of problems are you running into?

Someone did mention another grid to me the other day but I've not had a chance to research it. It was in the .NET magazine though (I think).

We are having a problem with focusing on the first cell in the first column see:

thread796-494681

Trapping the cell changed is also arsey. But were just getting used to it now.

Does ANYONE have any idea how to focus on the first cell??

icca had responded to the thread you provided, and the said the solution worked for him. Have you tried that yet and didn't have success?

Have tried it and it doesn't doo what I wanted. Can anybody help??

Matt

I do not have any intimate experience them but I have heard good things about Syncfusion and ComponentOne. Mind you I have also heard that they have their quirks but they may be better than the out-of-the-box datagrid. I believe you can download samples from their respective sites.
