Customer has been using 9N programmed using a PRI but just received 25 new DIDs on top of the 300 they have and the DID's start with 9XX and the extensions must match the DID. I know that all Extensions override shortcodes but How can I program the system to accept the Extensions and still use 9N?

You have two chooses.
Convince the customer that extension do not need to match DDI's at all.
Or you can play with the dial delay and dial count settings.

When you press a 9 and wait then the call will be send to the ARS and won't match extensions anymore (i think, i never have this problem to be honest)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Or stop using 9 for a line. The IPO doesn't need to for this very issue you have.

We finally convinced the customer to dial a 9 then 1 areacode and phone number for every call including Local calls and that solved everything.
91N/Dial/./0

Thanks

I use a [[[? / Dial / . / 50:main]]] short code in most of my installs which allows users to dial without the 9. However, you can run into conflictions if your area code conflicts with the extension numbers (ie ext 7803 in Northern Alberta, Canada area code 780) or if you have ext numbers that start with 1 conflicting with LD. Obviously conflictions would be different outside of North America, but you get the idea. The short code sends everything dialed that doesn't match an ext number, group number or existing short code out to the telco. Most of my customers love not having to dial 9 for an outside line.

Overhere we are a lot smarter and use a 0 for an outside line.
but then there are still (< 1%) that want to use extensions that start with a 0 :p
But there will always be idiots on the world.
