9650 IP set on IP500

HI All, I have an IP 500 with s/w 8.0.18. I plugged in a 9650 IP set and all I get is ethernet not availiable.
I have typed in craft# and reset the values and the phone and still get the same thing.
However the 9620 set works fine with no troubles

Bring it back, the ethernet port is broken.

Thats what I'm starting to think now because the PC ethernet port doesn't work either.
