9621G telephone screensaver vs backlight?

Hello, I have succesfully changed my screensaver on a 9621G telephone, and have it set to kick on after 240 minutes. However, the backlight is still set to the default of 120 minutes, and the screen will just go black after 120 minutes. Will the screensaver then come on after the 240 minutes, or will the screen continue to stay black?

Why not shorten the timers to test for yourself

I was just interested to see if any other members have ran into the same issue. After testing, yes the screen stays black once the backlight timer hits... I set my screensaver to 60 minutes, and the backlight to 240. Thanks!

I run a 9608 and 9630g heavy deployment, we uploaded and changed the screensaver to our company logo. In general what I have observed is that the screensaver will not trigger the back light. So that means when the screensaver is on, the backlight is not necessarily on.

If you want to see the screensaver more, I think you can set the back light 0 (never turn off) and the screensaver to 30 or a desired time. =D However, this may use much more power...

We also have 9608s in our house and many are placed on nightstands, they are VERY bright at night with the backlight set to zero, so keep in mind the environment if you decide to go this route. =D

gswimfrk, you can add a piece of text to the 46xxsettings.txt like this

IF $MODEL4 SEQ 9608 GOTO 9608

Then put this somewhere logical

# 9608
SET SCREENSAVER 10

This was you can give each model it's own settings.
Be sure you give each phone all the settings it needs ofcourse.
