I have a cust who was on VPN (9620) with sky, hes just upgraded to fibre and has received an SR102 Router.

Has anyone got remote worker or VPN on a 9620 working with these? or can you put the sky routers in 'modem only' mode like you can with the virgin media home hubs so I can use his old router?

Cheers
Dave

No, you can't switch them to modem mode, they run custom firmware that stops people getting themselves in any kind of major trouble, so many options are absent.

Not that you care, but they would be in breach of the broadband agreement/terms of use with Sky that states they will not use that broadband for any kind of business use :)

lol pissing in the wind then! it worked fine with SKY ADSL. Think one of the lads is going to try a different router!

will keep you in the loop young man!

I don't think you can see the ADSL/VDSL login details to be able to swap it... there used to be a way to work it out but I don't know if that's true on the new routers :)

I friend of mine used to work at sky in the r&d dept for their network dept. Funnily enough, I had a "discussion" with him about this topic, and he assured me, from the top, they dont block this kind of traffic on their network.

I recommend ringing sky and asking for the relevant IPSEC ports open on the router. or at least IPSEC passthrough turned on.

Sadly he no longer works as Sky as Sky saw it fit to lay off most of the dept and outsource it.
