Hi All,

On a CM6.3 and upgrading phones in prep for upgrade to CM8. One of my sites seems to be having an issue with the upgrade from R6.4014 to R6.8003 on the 9611G. It's not every phone, but it's enough that it's a major issue. Sounds like far end can hear, but no audio on near end. Not running into this at any other location. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi, Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be related to headsets, handsets are impacted. I'm beginning to wonder if it's a hairpinning issue. For some reason, it's not enabled on this IP-NR, but is on our others. That's just a shot in the dark though as to why it's working elsewhere, just not in this office.

Id either install 6.81 or roll back to a previous release. I was never a fan of being the first kid on the block with the latest Avaya phone firmware. Been too many issues with bad phone firmware over the years. I'll stick with my 2 year old firmware for now.

If you are moving to CM8 it's likely Avaya will want you on something more current than r6.4x. So I would try using 6.8.1 on one of the sets that's acting up and see if it resolves it. But like phoneguy55 says it's usually not the best to be on the bleeding edge (or with Avaya, even close to the edge) for phone firmware unless you want be the one to find the bugs.

If it's something as common as not having hairpinning turned on for the NR you would wouldn't be the first to encounter the issue so if that is it there is probably a fix in a minor revision.
