9608 Phones freezing up/drop calls after merge

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue but here it goes.

periodically on a merge of the phone system the 9608 phones will lockup/freeze up. Customer states that they can hit speaker phone and it won't activate the first line they can't dial out and when someone is on the phone it will drop the call. The site has about 200 phones. This is very random at times and it doesn't happen to the same phones every time it does occur.

What I have done:
I changed the HTTP to find the BIN files on the SD card instead of the PC on site.

Phones locked up today so it didn't resolve the issue.
 
This sounds like old firmware on the phones.
Upgraded them to the latest release and then it will probably go away.

Okay. That is what it was sounding like to me as well. I will have the customer check the firmware on the phones first and then see if he can reboot the phones that are having issues to get the firmware.
 
I was just told that we need to escalate a ticket up to Avaya as the system is sending out a command to unregister the 96008 phones.
