9608 phone waiting LLDP

adding 2 new 9608 phones
9608 phone says waiting for LLDP"
existing phones are fine, even when I reboot them
I am not using IPO as DHCP- the customer has their own DHCP
ideas?

you may have to define the vlan when phone 1st boots up if a vlan is being used, go to another phone and view the network settings

9600 series phones is a new ip phone,reconnect the phone and when it load,on the screen occur "* to programm" press the * boutton and enter the craft 27238,go to the ADDR,normaly youd should set to a static ip adress first,for other configuration it will work fine.

no let dhcp do this, how would you know what static ip address to assign, can cause a ip conflict doing it that way.

You Right,then try to clear the phone in the Clear menu after entering the craft,the phone will reboot,you should have a issue to this.

Ok, on one phone, I ended up restoring the phone to factory, put in just the Call server IP address and it worked.
On the other phone, that process would not work. It ended up being bad cat5 termination at the patch panel, The phone would boot but just sit there in " search for LLDP" - I finally moved the phone to switch room, and plugged it directly into the switch and it worked... darn wiring guys
