Anyone know why this is happening?

We've a 95 set which completely bypasses the login prompt each time it's rebooted. To log in to the workgroup, we have to log off and log on as a different user.

We've tried switching the Primary Network Login between Client For Microsoft Networks and Windows Logon with no effect.

Can you think of any other solutions?

Cheers,

Steve

I was actually going to refer you to the thread cdogg did, but... in addition, while I'm thinking of it...

In Windows 95, if you want to force a logon, and your having trouble... I wonder if forcing user profiles would be a solution... Go into the Control Panel and double click on the Passwords Icon. Select the User Profiles Tab and set it up for each user to maintain different settings...

That should force the logon box to pop up so that it can verify which user is connecting at each bootup (even if its the same user everytime)

MISAdmin's suggestion should work if you want a Windows login prompt.

For a Network prompt, you'll need to dig further.

backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\current version\network\real mode net

If there is an entry named autologon, right-click on it, choose delete.

Then start over:

Go to C:\Windows
Delete all .pwl files

Open system.ini
Delete all lines under
[Password Lists]

Go to ControlPanel>Network
Choose Windows Logon as Primary Login
