I had someone place two calls to 911 and hang-up this morning. Although it's nice to have a visit from your local law enforcement we feel it's not necessary! :)

I checked my CDR reports and there are no entries for the calls. Does anyone know the logic or reason behind emergency calls not being recorded by CDR?

Thanks in advance....

Ryan

Its probably programming in the CDR system itself, but you obviously don't have a crss-alert button programmed anywhere, or you would have known which local made the call, and could ave intercepted it before the police showed up. Paul Beddows

I do now have a crss-alert button, but again as you implied, it's a little too late.

With regards to the CDR system statement, it doesn't appear to be related to that. The information I gather comes directly from the raw text that is compiled from the CDR output. Of three total calls to 911 none of them showed up in the raw output.

Did you search for "11" as well as "911"? Most ars tables are setup to send 11 (as in 9,11) to 911. -CL

I've searched for any variation of as well as the originating station that placed a 3rd (test) call to 911. Still no entry....

If you are having problems with 911 calls you might have them route to an attendant or other internal extension for verifacation, then that station could be setup with the ability to make the emergency call.

What app are you using to look at the raw output? It should be there unless you have cdr turned off for that trunk. If you're looking through the raw cdr you will be searching for "11" which will yield a lot! If you're looking at the data with billing software it may have clipped it as "too short".

gbensinger is right. Sometime the CDR software does not process the call because the duration is too short. However, I experienced the similar problem in the past with no solution. I also have another computer to collect the raw data sending from the com port and found nothing. Our local 911 operator does not dispatch until a return phone call confirmation. We are in manufacturing so sometime people dialed the number wrong and hanged up. Bobg1 solution is good but make sure that station can dial '911' without making a loop back to the same station.
