You might want to also look at Amcom's E911 Enterprise Alert solution. We're on our 2nd one now, getting ready for a 3rd, having used it for years (since 2005) with our Mitel cluster and are in the process now of a 911 system upgrade and moving it over to the Call Manager. Amcom makes this product available for and compatible with several PBX vendor systems (including CISCO) & accomplishes tracking of your moves, adds & changes with more features and without all the drama and (IMO) limitations of CER. Tracking of your device moves can be either at the switch or switchport level, only limited by your willingness to create the original start-up database and the level of granularity you require. (by site, or by site & etherswitch, or by site, etherswitch and port). Moves are detected by SNMP traps + you can also schedule full system scans to catch any potentially missed traps (we do ours daily at 12 noon, since most moves occur in the AM). Passes the call through to the 911 PSAP in real time, inserts the PS/ALI string into the D-channel message, provides recording of the 911 calls, SMS text alerting of 1st responders, PC Screen pops, Audible monitoring of the 911 call in progress & emailing of a .wav file of each 911 call at call termination to a distribution list you define. System activity reports included. Does far more than CER at less cost.
