9.0 - Auto Time profile with manual overide and End user management

I have a customer with 9.0.
1.) They require auto night switching from hunt group to AA on a daily bases with an option for manual overide in the event they want to stay open or close early.
2.) They requested we setup a Holiday schedule within the time profile.
3.) They want to be able to edit the Time Profiles themselves without a MAC everytime they want to change.

We have been using the Hunt Group Time Profile instead of ICR to allow the manual overide which works fine when they want to stay open but not so much with Holiday schedules. Also this customer is going to flip out if I ask him to do mental gymnastics everytime he wants to make a change to open or close his store. Not to mention the fact that they are guaranteed to screw it up.
Previously they had a hosted VOIP system that made this pretty easy for them to edit or change.

My questions are
1.) What are the specific changes in 9.1 that members keep referring to that make this alot easier with Embedded VM?
2.) Have they fixed the issue where a calander entry in a Time Profile doesn't overide the daily schedule?
3.) If I use Intragrant's method

can I still use a Holiday schedule in the ICR?

I may be asking for someone to help me with a shortcut to reading and research but its Thanksgiving morning and my better half is glaring at the back of my head while I type.

Keep the groups as it is. Create a holiday time profile and create a holiday greeting target ICR will use during active holiday time profile. The standard target in ICR will stay like it is right now.

So the customer only has to edit the holiday time profile and nothing else.
