Hi all,

thanks for the help in advance :)

Heres the prob:
A client can get mail from a pop server on the net but cannot send and gets the error code 8x800cccf. They are on XP pro and using outlook 2000 and 2003. Sat behind a DI-304 ISDN router.

Attempted fixes so far:
replicating the prob here I have the same router and a spare 3com ISDN box. Both give the same problem.
I can telnet to the pop server but not the smtp even when the client machines are in the DMZ. I put them in the DMZ for a bit incase it was the NAT on the DI-304. But its not. I have tried all versions of outlook from 97 upwards.
Using the same router the exchange server at work is fine for sending and recieving. There is no MTU size on the router control panel as i have been told that altering that might be a good idea. Tried all different settings in outlook, SSL non SSL, pop before smtp, logon to smtp. Still no joy.

tried from another clients network to do the same and it works fine, it has to be something to do with the routers but god knows what! Even when i scan the online server it reports all ports except 25.

any ideas greatly appreciated.
