What all do I need to upgrade to DID PRI?

1.) DR4 s/w minimum
2.) DID Fiber Trunk Cartridge??? (or T-1 cartridge)

Tried searching, but couldn't fine the details.

Thanks for the help.

You would need to change out the cabinet to a MICS.
8x24 does not take a T-1

I actually did a search, and somewhere said that I can use the 8 x 24 but with minimum DR4 software.

So I am at a stump now. Why couldn't I use the 8 x 24?

I BELIEVE ADTRAN MAKES SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN CONVERT ISDN PRI INTO COPPER, CAN'T REMEMBER THE MODEL NUMBER

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

analog DID was introduced with DR4 on 8x24. You can order that from telco but no T-1 or pri unless you upgrade to mics.

to bkrike: I went to Google, did a search on "norstar 8x24 PRI" and I got a couple sites. 2 sites say all you need is DR4 and Fiber Trunk.

DID Norstar Fiber Trunk cartridge
This Direct Inward Dialing Norstar Trunk cartridge routes calls from the public network directly to Norstar station sets, bypassing an attendant and therefore reducing traffic to the central answering position. This Norstar card provides access for up to 4 central office lines. This Norstar trunk cartridge is compatible with the Modular 8x24 (Release DR4 or higher) and the Modular ICS and supports disconnect supervision, but does not support CMS/CLASS services. It may be inserted into either the Copper Trunk Module or the Fiber Trunk Module.

My post says the 8x24 will not take a T-1.
My post does not refer to DID. The 8x24 will take analog DID's. You asked what you would need for a PRI/DID. This is something totally different than an analog DID. You should really contact a Nortel Vendor to discuss your needs.

i am about to get rude

1. a DID circut is NOT a PRI
2. a PRI was introduced on MICS 4.1 arround 2001
3. the software you are using is the equivelant to windows 3.1
4.you can not install a pri t1 or a straight t1 into a 8x24,,,,never could and never will
5. if you would have paid a pro we would not be having this conversation

6 months until ski season starts...sadly i must resign myself to the warmer weather"this will include a normal 8-5 work day, 5 days a week"

Well, you folks are right, I confused myself in the beginning by saying PRI DID's not Analog DID's.

I should become more familiar with all the terms first.

But thanks, this info is very helpful.
