When the Primary link comes back up on between an 8300/G700 and LSP.. Don't you need to do a manual reset system 4 on LSP to get the endpoints to reregister with the primary controller? Someone was telling with Com Manager 2.1.1 this should happen automaticlly. I have not found any documentation to support this... Is this correct.
All information is appreciated.

As far as I am aware it is a manual reset system 4 on the LSP or you can shutdown and resart the server via the web interface. I use comms mgr 2.0 so this could have changed with 2.1.1.

I already have a customer running this Let me test on tomorrow & will let you know the result.

There's something coming in 3.0 to automatically recover. I don't know the details.

The rationale behing not doing it now is that a WAN link can bounce up and down many times before it is really up. You don't want the gateways rebooting over and over again when this happens. So the gateway and processor stay in LSP until you tell it otherwise - when the WAN is back up and running and stable.

The result also negative, still need "reset sys 4" to recovy

You can also telnet 10 the S8300 and issue a "stop -rn"

This will stop CM and reboot the S8300, the same as doing it through the web page.

I thought 'reset mgp' lets it start at the top of the mgc list and check each one.

correct, 'reset mgp' is what will cause the re-registration to the S8700 for the G700 and it's resources. However, it still leaves the LSP unregistered. Resetting the LSP assures both the G700s and LSP will re-register

The correct procedure is to do a "reset sys 4" on the LSP, as ii8206 mentioned above. This ensures that the G700 AND any IP station registered with the LSP will search for the S8700.

"reser mgp" will NOT cause the IP stations to search for the S8700.

"stop -rn" reboots the S8300 (not so safe) while "reset sys 4" just restarts the Communication Manager service on the LSP (more safe) and unregisters G700 & IP stations.

Petran.

stop -rn" is safe, it first stops all applications then executes a reboot.

you could also issue "stop -rcfn" if it makes you feel better. This will show the processes shutting down before the reboot.
