8300 CD drive

Does anyone know a way from bash to tell if a remote 8300 has a cd drive attached to it. I want to ship a cd for an upgrade and i need to know if there is a drive already on site. The locals at the site are no help, they're brokers.

I never leave the cd attched to the S8300. But always leave a box with the CD drive there. Best bet would be to send the CD drive.
