Hello everyone.

Does anyone know a way to produce DTMF tones from within a vector other than recording them back to an announcment and then playing it in a vector? For example, the company I work for wants to transfer calls back into the ATT network, this will release our trunk lines and make ATT place the call. We have to dial *8 and then the TFN. Is there anyway to produce DTMF tones other than recording them? If not, any suggestions on how to do this? I have also heard you need to record the DTMF tones from an analog line?

Suggestions?

Thanks,

DJJ

can you add a line that says goto number *8TFN? Maybe I misunderstood the question.

The best way I found is to record the DTMF tones as an announcement and then add the announcement in your vector. To do this you will need an analog phone on an analog port with 1 touch dialing. Then just add the DTMF tones you want on one of the speed dials. Then when you record the announcement just hit the speed dial. If you don't have an analog phone with speed dial you can use 2 analog phones. (Must be on the same line) Just dial the DTMF tones you want with one, then use the other to dial the FAC to record the announcement. Then with the other phone hit redial and it will record the DTMF tones on the announcement.

Why not set up a ars digit conversion. Have the Vector route to a special number not used by anyone else. When the switch sees the special number is will convert it to the TFN.

It's worth a try
