I have a Crystal 8.5 report which has part of it being grouped on a team field. I've had it sort this group to display in a specified order by named groups. In the Others tab of the group options window I've selected "Put All others in the group named:" and typed in "Other".

In spite of this, the report is huddling all the rest of the groups under the group name of whatever was highest in the list of those names left after the ordering specification (In this case, Houston).

Is this a bug? Is there a workaround for it? I have all the service packs and hotfixes installed for 8.5. If anyone knows how to beat this thing into submission (or whether it's just something we have to live with) I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

It does work, so it may be based on what you've established as your groups.

Make sure that you set the value to is equal to and select a value, go back in and check, if you name groups and state is any value, then you'll get them all in a named group.

We tried that. It doesn't work. The remaining groups are still being grouped under the heading others. We're going to try some other things to circumvent it, but this is definitely a problem in the software.

Nope, I used it often, even back in my 8.5 days. I think that you're not setting something up correctly, or I suppose it could be a bad install.

It was our bad. The field name had been dropped into the group header rather than the group name. Thanks for the help!
