Ok, here's the deal. I have a cisco 7910 series ip phone connected to a catalyst 3500 switch that's run to a aironet 350 series wireless bridge. This is the only phone that's run this way and is not configuring and Ive run out of solutions. Could it be because of the wireless bridge?

Comptechx,

Is the phone associating to the bridge? Is it able to pull dhcp? Are you having audio quality problems, or what?

rtfmdude,
The phone is not registering in the call manager, the dhcp is enabled but it is having troubling pulling it....it only stays in the configuring ip mode and never goes past that. We've never gotten this phone to work and it's the only one on a wireless bridge. Dont know what's up? thx

ok, so at this point, we can't pull dhcp. I would check the ssid and wep keys to make sure they are correct. Can you web into the bridge and determine if the phone is associated? (should be a page in there somewhere that shows all the associated devices)

It might be easiest to strip off all security for troubleshooting, so all you have to set is the ssid. I think the phone is set to ssid 'cisco' by default - if you're having problems changing the phone settings, maybe you can change the bridge's ssid to 'cisco.' (on the phone, I remember having to hit 'apply' for like, every setting to get them to take - was kinda wierd)

It might also be worthwhile to try using a laptop or something to associate & just pull dhcp, just for troubleshooting purposes.

one thing that had us hung up was the port on the switch needed to be set up for the 350 brg once that was done all was good also if u are useing vlans need to make sure the vlans have an ssid and also chk if u are useing vlans that under the vlan section it shows encapuslation and trunking read up a little on the 350 brg and about seting up for voip with the 350 brg ,we have had several that we are useing 7940s and 7910,and wireless voip phones with a call center and they work fine they take a lot of band with since we have over 200 on the network

yeah, and I think I was thinking that comptechx had a 7920, not a 10, so, ignore all that other stuff about checking phone settings (duh!)

Cool, will do. Im still working on the configuring the switch part. I had forgotten about the encapsulation and trunking so I m gonna give it a shot. I'll keep you posted. Thx
