7005 error "rowset not available"

I inherited a VB6/Access 2000 application. It worked fine until the user was upgraded to Windows 2000. Now the error message appears when the app attempts to fill in a data grid.
The app works on my PC, which also has Windows 2000, but I have VB installed, the user doesn't and shouldn't. Also tested the app on another Windows 2000 PC, without VB installed and it works fine. I have installed the app on the user's network and local drives, with the same result : 7005 error. The app itself has not changed. I even re-created a new setup for the installation. Please help.

For the computer where the application doesn't work - go to

http://www.microsoft.com

and try to do Windows Update.
(once it solved my, similar problem with Windows 98)
