Hopefully this makes sense what I'm trying to do. I would like to break out an area code using 7 digit NPAs to route calls. Some numbers in this area code are long distance, while others are not. The long distance area code calls require 11 digits, while the non-LD ones are just 7 digits. I have a dedicated LD T1 that I route all 1+(XXX)YYY-ZZZZ numbers over. I was looking in the book, and it seems as though I should be able to enter 7 digits in the NPA field. I even confirmed with another facility that it is possible because they break out calls this way. The trouble is when I try, I get an error which says Too many or too few digits, please enter (1-4) numbers at the prompt. Is there somewhere in the CDB that limits how many digits the NPA or NXX prompt can take?
If it helps, we are on a 7 digit dial plan, while the facility that is using 7 digit NPAs is on a 4 digit dial plan. I don't know if this makes a difference or is just circumstantial. Let me know what you think, thanks!
