Hi All

Is it possible to have Oracle 7.3.4 and 8.1.6 running on the same AIX system. If yes , how?

Yes it is possible and fairly easy.
Look at the doc for ORACLE MULTIPLE HOMES.

Mostly, set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE to the right directory for your need.
Set oratab to use the right HOME.
